Independent Student of the Day

Aaron Hendrick is an accounting and math student at Aquinas College.

When Aaron was considering colleges, he knew he wanted a smaller college that offered a good student-to-faculty ratio. Aaron wanted to build relationships with his professors and by choosing Aquinas, he had the opportunity to do that every day. Aaron appreciates that Aquinas is a small community that not only focuses on self-growth, but on helping people around the city of Grand Rapids. The campus cares about the environment and always makes a point to go the extra mile.

Currently, Aaron is helping out his dad, who is the tennis coach at Aquinas, as a student-assistant coach.  He also serves as a student ambassador at the college and gives tours to prospective high school students. Aaron enjoys his role as a student ambassador as he gets to meet so many people and tell them why Aquinas is great. Aaron has enjoyed his time at Aquinas and looks forward to another great year!

My motivation

I want to be the best I can be. Given all the necessary resources, it is up to me to stay on track and work hard.

My latest accomplishments

I won the 2014 Joseph Baker Memorial Award, which is awarded to one male senior athlete at the school. The award is given out on the basis of academics, athletic contribution, and service to others.

Next big goal

My next goal is to land an accounting internship with a local firm.

Why is choosing your own path important?

Everyone is different. No one writes the same book, so it is important to stay true to yourself and do what is best for your future.
