Tayler Thelen is a senior scholar-athlete at Siena Heights University. He is majoring in business administration, with a concentration in marketing, and also plays baseball for the Saints.
On top of his academics and athletics, Tayler still finds time to involve himself on campus. He is a resident assistant, and a member of Siena Heights University SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) and Sigma Beta Delta (International Honor Society for Business). Tayler volunteers in Toledo, Ohio at the Huntington Center working events to help support the baseball team, as well. This past summer, Tayler had the opportunity to intern at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for the Product Development and Implementation Department.
After graduation this May, Tayler plans to return to Siena to play a fifth year of baseball and pursue his master’s degree in either organizational leadership or leadership in healthcare management.
My motivation
My motivations in life are all energized by others. My family, friends and the less fortunate all give me reasons to work hard everyday. These people are all close to my heart and drive me to be successful. It is my duty to take advantage of the opportunities I have been blessed with, so that I can have the continued ability to help others.
My latest accomplishments
This past summer I accepted an internship position for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan working in the Product Development and Implementation Department.
Next big goal
My next big goal consists of graduating this upcoming May with over a 3.9 GPA, and helping the Saints baseball team win the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Why is choosing your own path important?
Choosing my own path is important to me because I get the opportunity to pursue my passions. By pursuing my passions and accomplishing my goals, I can truly live a satisfying life. It is important to be happy, and choosing my own path will give me the ability to live a selfless, happy lifestyle.
