Independent Student of the Day
Marinel Perez is a senior at Madonna University, studying Psychology. She is actively involved in supporting her peers as a Peer Mentor in the university’s First Year Experience Program, where she helps freshmen transition to college life. In addition to her mentoring role, Marinel works as a Media Intern for the Student Association of Filipino Americans, contributing to the organization’s outreach and communications.
Off-campus, she serves as an ambassador for DCDX, a Gen Z research and strategy firm. Marinel is also eager to gain hands-on experience in her field and plans to pursue an internship through Madonna University's Mental Health Field Placement program to further her professional development.
My latest accomplishments
My latest accomplishment is becoming a media intern at the Student Association of Filipino Americans. It allows me to engage with my culture in meaningful ways such as creating social media posts and newsletters.
Next big goal
My next big goal is to cultivate a welcoming environment at Madonna University through the creation of an Asian American organization. I want students to feel included in a community on campus that fosters meaningful connections and cultural exchange.
Favorite place on campus
My favorite place on campus is the Take 5 Lounge and the Madonna University Library, both of which provide a great space to meet up with friends or study.Share this profile
