Aaron Thompson is a senior business administration major at Spring Arbor University.
Aaron has a strong interest in entrepreneurship that was sparked by two of his favorite Spring Arbor courses. The first was an upper level entrepreneurship class in which he and his classmates were able to navigate through the many steps of starting a business of their choice. He also took a social entrepreneurship course that showed him how business can make an impact on the world.
Aaron has worked as an intern or U-Guide in the Spring Arbor University Admissions office since fall of 2013. He also has worked on campus as an intern in the SAU President's Office. Both opportunities have given Aaron an opportunity to acclimate to a professional work environment, something he's sure will prepare him for his next step after graduation.
Aaron played three sports in high school – football, basketball and track – and played two years of college football at the NCAA Division III level. Now, he continues his involvement in athletics as a participant and a fan. Aaron plays in intramural leagues on campus and supports the Spring Arbor Cougars by regularly attending sporting events on campus.
My motivation
I am motivated as I am a competitor. I compete with myself, as well as others to become the best person and employee that I can become. I also am motivated by my parents, family, and friends. They push me and give me support in my life and I can't thank them enough for that.
My latest accomplishments
My lastest accomplishment is that I interned in the president's office at Spring Arbor University. I learned a lot of valuable marketing and administrative skills and was able to sit in on meetings with several departments. I also had the opportunity to do research projects on several different topics, ranging from a review of marketing strategies to an analysis of the effectiveness of Spring Arbor's promotional videos for the Office of Advancement.
Next big goal
My next big goal is to find a job after graduation in the business world. I haven't narrowed down my options yet, but I am looking forward to the challenge.
Why is choosing your own path important?
Choosing my own path is important because I am my own person and I have a lot to offer with my unique ideas and thoughts. I want to make my own way, earn what I get in life and make my own breaks.
Favorite place on campus
