Independent Student of the Day

Jacob Bultema is a senior at Siena Heights University, majoring in elementary education with a minor in child development. 

He is a wide receiver for the Siena Heights Saints football team, and has been on the team since its inception in 2011. Jacob was recently recognized by the NAIA as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete. In order to be nominated, student-athletes must meet high academic standards, maintaining a GPA of at least a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Outside of football and academics, Jacob stays busy on campus by serving as a campus living assistant for the past two years.

Jacob is confident that Siena Heights University was the right choice for him. "I have learned and experienced so many things while attending SHU.  I've learned more about myself and have become a better leader and a better person. I feel I have made a great choice by coming to Siena Heights."


My motivation

I am motivated by myself and my close family and friends. I want to do well for myself and family. I also am motivated do to well for my future family, my wife and children. 

My latest accomplishments

My latest accomplishment is that I am engaged and getting married in less than a year. 

Next big goal

My next big goal is to graduate and find a job that I will love doing. 

Why is choosing your own path important?

Choosing your own path is important because you are the one who has to live it. Your choices should reflect what is important to you, whether that's your family, friends or other interests.
