Kat Mejeske is a senior at Siena Heights University, double majoring in Spanish and Communications with a minor in gender and ethnic studies.  She is originally from the Lansing area.

On campus, Kat has served as an Orientation Leader to incoming freshmen classes, and is a Peer Mentor to the First Year Experience class, a course requirement for all freshmen. She is also a member of the Spanish Club.

Last summer, Kat traveled to Washington D.C. and put her Spanish and communication skills to work.  She started a business to provide translation services and help families gain access to educational materials.

Kat's long term goal is to work as a translator and entrepreneur.

My motivation

I am motivated by the abundance of love that I have in my life. I am lucky enough to have a supportive family, incredible friends, and a university that encourages me to pursue my dreams to the fullest.

My latest accomplishments

I am heading off to Costa Rica for my second study abroad experience during my undergraduate studies. I recently tested into the classes that allow me to study Communication classes in Spanish with the locals. This is a lifelong dream of mine, and I feel extremely accomplished and excited!

Next big goal

I would like to work for a non-profit that allows me to travel internationally. I can't wait to see the future that lies ahead of me!

Why is choosing your own path important?

My life is beautiful, and I can't wait to see what's next. My path has lead me to great places and amazing people, which is everything I could ever hope for and more.
