Maria also works at Habitat for Humanity of Kent County in their Community Development Department.

My motivation

My family and my faith.

My latest accomplishments

Shifting the mission and vision of Calvin's Business Forum and getting the support of our Business Department faculty. In addition to this, I am excited about shaping this club into something substantial and sustainable. Being able to leave the club better than it was when I started is what I am most proud of.

Next big goal

To get an internship for this summer and find my 'next step'.

Why is choosing your own path important?

It is important because no matter how much you would like to please the people in your life that care about you, they will be the most proud when you discover your own passions and pursue them. When it comes to following in other people's footsteps, I think it only makes sense to do so if you can learn something from it. However, in my experience, people learn the most when they take initiative and pursue their personal passions. When you look back, the mistakes, trials, and doubts along the way will only legitimize the journey you took.

Additionally, the path you choose for yourself will ultimately be the one that is best suited for you, and the one that you will generate the most happiness from.
